When Are the 11th Class Position Holders Announced?

The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen has said the 1st year result 2026 will be declared on Thursday, 22 October 2026 at 10:00 AM by all nine Punjab boards at the same time. Following the boards’ usual practice, the position holders list is expected a day earlier, on Wednesday, 21 October 2026. This is the expected date, not an official announcement yet. The day-before pattern is consistent across years. In 2025, BISE Lahore revealed its 11th class position holders on 14 October at 4:00 PM, with the result announced the next morning at 10 AM. BISE Rawalpindi followed the same script. The 2026 matric results did too: toppers on 5 August, results on 6 August. There is no reason to expect a different schedule this year. One note on rumors: some sites announced the result for 10 October, but that date has passed with no announcement from any board. The expected date remains 22 October, labelled expected until the official notification arrives.

Why Toppers Are Announced a Day Early

The one-day gap is deliberate. Position holders are announced at a prize distribution ceremony at the board office, where the board chairman presents medals and certificates and the media covers the top scorers. Giving the toppers their own day means the ceremony happens calmly, before millions of students flood the websites for their own results the next morning.

What the Toppers List Looks Like

The 11th class is marked out of 550, and each board’s list covers the overall top three students, group-wise toppers (Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS, I.Com and Arts), and gender-wise position holders for boys and girls. All nine boards, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, DG Khan and Sahiwal, publish their own separate lists, with each topper’s name, college and marks. In 2025, the top scores sat within two or three marks of the full 550. One caution: some sites publish “11th class” toppers lists showing marks like 1086 or 1090. Those are 2nd-year lists mislabelled. The 11th class total is always 550, so a four-digit score next to an 11th class name means the list is wrong.
